Furniture wanted for Whatcom families leaving homelessness – The Bellingham Herald

A program that gives furniture to needy Whatcom County residents is seeking donations and volunteers for its third annual “12 Days of Deliveries,” which runs Dec. 10 through Dec. 21.

On those days, House2Home Network hopes to deliver furniture to families coming out of homelessness.

The network is a program of The Volunteer Center of Whatcom County and serves as a virtual furniture bank in which volunteers pick up items that have been donated and deliver them to families in need, with no warehouse in between.

The program has delivered 333 pieces of furniture to 90 families and individuals so far this year, according to a news release from the volunteer center. Still, there are requests for 29 couches, 23 queen beds, 15 double beds and 13 twin beds.

To donate gently used furniture or to volunteer for an hour, contact Karen Saupe, House2Home Network coordinator, at 360-746‐2362 or
