New furniture store prepares for grand opening in Bluefield, Va. – Bluefield Daily Telegraph
BLUEFIELD, Va. â A vacant storefront that was created when an office supply business closed its doors has been filled by a national furniture retailer which is preparing for its grand opening this coming Saturday.
The sign for Ashley HomeStore now stands at 560 Commerce Drive where the Staples sign once stood. Preparations are being made for the new storeâs grand opening and ribbon cutting on Saturday at 9:45 a.m., but the store opened its doors to customers Sept. 30. Regional Manager Samantha Ashby said the publicâs reception has been good.
âWe represent Ashley HomeStore,â she said as customers checked out the furnishings. âWeâre basically a show room for the factory.â
Ashley Furniture itself is the biggest furniture company in the world, and Ashley HomeStore is the ânumber one furniture and mattress retailer in the world,â Ashby stated. âWe carry everything. Any sort of furniture for the home, we carry it.â
The new store on Commerce Drive has in-store technology which offers a digital catalog so customers can see everything Ashley HomeÃtore has to offer, Ashby said.
âWe can order it just as if we did have it,â she added.
The new Ashley HomeStore is independently owned and operated.
âWe own stores in Roanoke, Lynchburg, Harrisonburg, Stanton, and an outlet in Waynesboro. Weâre licensees for the factory,â Ashby said. âWe have price ranges for all budgets and we have styles to meet all consumer needs.â
The new Bluefield, Va. store has approximately a dozen employees. Itâs owner, Sam Zeidan, has been in the furniture business for more than 30 years in Virginia, she said.
