New Ivanhoe spot will combine wine bar and furniture shop – Orlando Sentinel
The owner of the Lucky Lure bar in Orlando is building a wine bar and furniture gallery two doors down in Ivanhoe Village.
Michael Blaise and business partner Amy Smith plan to convert a former home decor store at 1425 N. Orange Ave. into a hybrid bar and retail spot, Blaise said.
“We have a lot of people that go to the Lucky Lure that might want to have a glass of wine and check out something different,” Blaise said.
Lucky Lure is an open air bar specializing in mixed cocktails and beers by the can.
The Ivanhoe will have a different feel, Blaise said.
Blaise and Smart plan to populate The Ivanhoe Furnishings and Libations spot with furniture and home decor pieces from local makers and artists.
“I’m pumped because we can push the creativity,” Blaise said.
Blaise is also a local contractor that specializes on interiors at restaurants, bars and hotels.
The building is a small space, sandwiched between North Orange Avenue and railroad tracks.
It’s just 1,300 square feet, he said.
The Ivanhoe Furnishings and Libations will be just down the road from Washburn Imports, a furniture gallery with its own bar called The Imperial.
