55 Lions attend Cabinet Meeting – Union Daily Times

UNION — More than 50 Lions — some of them in costume — attended a “Cabinet Meeting” of Lions Clubs Thursday evening at Grace United Methodist Church.

The event, which was hosted by the Union Lions Club, brought together Lions from throughout District 32D for an evening of reports, presentations, food, and fellowship, all set to a theme in keeping with the time of the year.

“It was fine, we had 55 people in attendance,” Past District Governor Lion George Goings said Friday in describing Thursday’s meeting. “It was an update as to all the activities going on in our district at the present time.”

Goings said that in addition to reports about the activities of the clubs of District 32D, there were also presentations of Service pins.

“We had Lions recognized for 40, 45, 50 years of membership,” Goings said. “The Service Chevrons are awarded in five-year increments.”

Some of the Lions present were wearing costumes, which Goings said reflected the theme of the event.

“The theme was ‘Fall Harvest’ and some Lions dressed appropriately,” Goings said. “We had a costume judging contest and Lion Sue Keith won ‘Best Scarecrow.’”
