Cabinet reshuffle: Who’s set for promotion and who will be axed? – Telegraph.co.uk

Is Philip Hammond for the chop?

In the run-up to the election, Mr Hammond’s departure from the Treasury was considered almost inevitable after the party’s disastrous Budget u-turn and repeated clashes with Downing Street.

His relationship with Mrs May reached a nadir after one of his aides reportedly described No 10 as “economically illiterate”. Will he now be moved on? Amber Rudd, the Home Secretary, is tipped as a potential replacement.

Who else is at risk?

Andrea Leadsom, the environment secretary who challenged Mrs May for the Tory leadership, is considered at risk along with Liz Truss, the Justice Secretary. However Mrs May could think twice now about removing Mrs Leadsom, who was a prominent Brexiteer.
